Doberman
This is a project I set for myself. I wanted to start using and practising with the Fibonacci Sequence. The Fibonacci sequence is characterized by the fact that every number after the first two is the sum of the two preceding ones e.g 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34.... When we make squares with those widths, we get a nice spiral. When we take any two successive Fibonacci Numbers, their ratio is very close to the Golden Ratio which is approximately 1.618034.
I downloaded a picture of a doberman side on and traced it. With each iteration I started to try and find the shape that I wanted the logo to achieve. I gave myself a rule of only using the Fibonacci sequence, ovals & circles. Once finished I scanned my drawing into Illustrator.
After my drawing was scanned I went over it with the pen tool to get the general shape in vector form. I then went about applying the grid of the Fibonacci sequence, ovals & circles where ever I saw opportunity. After a lot of tweaking I finally came to the finished product.
